Avengers August: Addendum

    I love an alliteration.

But I digress, to the point at hand.

For various reasons I don’t want to particularly get into with too much detail, let’s say that work has become chaotic and full of it’s own drama, our son is about to start kindergarten, holidays have occurred, and we’re preparing for Bob to continue his schooling, we haven’t been able to find a lot of time to sit down and actually watch movies. On top of all that, we have to find time to watch some of these movies when our kids are preoccupied or at my parents house because a lot of these superhero movies scare our son, and I like to sleep at night.

So, all told, we haven’t watched nearly as many movies as we nearly would as we adjust to new schedules and unforeseen circumstances. Which is actually kind of heartbreaking for both of us. We love doing this marathon, we love going on this journey, and we love watching Disney movies. We feel like we’ve let ourselves down, even though our priorities have simply had to be different this month.

Hopefully, we’ll get into a solid routine by the end of the month, and so, since Avengers August hasn’t panned out the way we wanted, we’ve decided to extend it into Superhero September. It seemed only fair. Now, does that mean our regularly scheduled every movie in order portion of the marathon will be delayed until the new year? Unfortunately, yes. But neither Bob nor myself felt good moving on with only 5-6 Marvel movies under our belt – which is how it’s looking like it’ll turn out. So we’ll extend it into September and then proceed as scheduled.

If you’re curious, that means the latter half of our year will look like this”

  • September – Marvel
  • October – Halloween
  • November – Bob’s Birthday Picks
  • December – Christmas

With a return to our regularly scheduled marathon from January until April.

If you’ve been wondering where we’ve been, since we normally update this blog way more often than we have been, we’re fine. But life…well it happens. And there’s not much you can do about it. But we’re just as passionate about Disney as ever, and we look forward to watching and giving you our opinions on the thousands of Disney movies still waiting for us to watch.

Until then, keep on the look out for our review of XMen, which we should have finished by the end of this week, and for at least one movie update a week for the next three or so weeks, when our schedules should settle down somewhat.

Thank you for sticking around and enjoying the Disney magic with us.

    – Doc and Bob
