“James Cameron looks back at the critical choices he made when creating the blockbuster film, Titanic, and with a team of experts, puts those ideas to the test against a wealth of new Titanic research – underwater footage, computer-generated simulations, and scholarly discover – continuing to unravel the many mysteries of this iconic and tragic event.”
Bob and I were kind of confused by this title. Because this was released in like…”” and Bob and I aren’t huge Titanic buffs, it’s just not our specific history obsession – though it is our son’s – but we were both pretty sure the Titanic sank over 20 years from the time of release.
I mostly know the rough time period because of the first episode of ‘Downton Abbey’. I mean, I would have guessed the early 1900s. Don’t get me wrong, but I couldn’t have told you before or after WWI otherwise.
But it’s 20 years from the FILM Titanic, because James Cameron, like my son, is obsessed with a long sunk boat.
It’s actually pretty informative, to be perfectly honest, and it’s cool to see it in the context of a man basically checking his work and seeing how dedicated Cameron is to historical accuracy. I think it’s also very important that even Cameron admits he may have not been totally fair to the actual humans he turned into characters for the purposes of a story.
Also, full confession – I’ve never seen the film Titanic. Ever. Bob feels that we should rectify that, but I’ll be honest it’s not my top priority when we have so many very good Disney films to watch.
